How to find out if you’re not getting enough of this summer’s fun men’swear
A new study by the US-based company, Fun Wear, has found that the trend of men’s fashion has become increasingly popular in recent years, especially in Europe.
“It’s kind of an odd phenomenon that people seem to think of men wearing a suit as a more formal fashion choice than men wearing dresses,” Fun Wear founder Richard O’Brien told the Wall Street Journal.
“The suit is definitely the choice of the modern man, but that’s not the case at all in the US.”
Fun Wear has found the popularity of suits and ties in Europe and the US has coincided with an increase in the number of men and women who wear suits and blazers.
The study, published in the Journal of Consumer Research, also found that men in Europe have been more likely to dress in casual clothing in recent times.
In the US, the number who dress in formal clothing is growing.
“When you look at trends, you might think that this is a man’s suit, but the trend is changing,” Mr O’Brien said.
“We’re seeing more and more casual clothes in general.
You’re seeing people wearing suits and suits and jackets, blazons and blazer, all the way down to the sport jackets.”
Mr O’sbrien said the study was not meant to be a judgmental view of what suits and trousers are becoming in Europe, but a more balanced view.
“This is a study that looks at men’s clothes, but I think we’re seeing this trend in men’s clothing trends in general, and that’s why we think that men’s suits and pants, for the most part, are a good thing,” he said.
